Terms, conditions & privacy
Last updated: October 2026
Find A Creative Mind is operated by Amy Patsalides as a sole trader.
These terms explain how Find A Creative Mind services operate, including counselling, retreats and events, corporate wellbeing and creative consultancy. They also explain how personal information is handled. For anything that isn’t covered here, you can contact me here
The counselling relationship
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My counselling practice is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions, which sets out the ethical principles and professional standards expected of BACP members.
Read the BACP Ethical Framework
The counselling relationship is collaborative. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about or what you would like to change. We will work together at your pace and review our work as it develops.
BACP itself recommends that counselling agreements cover practical arrangements, fees, missed sessions, confidentiality, records, personal-data security and contact between sessions. BACP
Sessions
Counselling sessions are normally 50 minutes and take place at an agreed time, either online or in person.
There is no minimum number of sessions you need to commit to unless you have chosen to purchase a specific package. Counselling may be short-term or longer-term depending on what feels useful to you.
We can review our work together at any point.
You are free to end counselling whenever you choose. Where possible, I encourage us to talk about ending beforehand so that we have an opportunity to reflect on our work and bring the counselling relationship to a considered close.
Fees and payment
My current counselling fees are:
Weekly sessions — £60 per session
Fortnightly sessions — £65 per session
Payment for individual sessions is due within 24 hours of the session. Where a package of sessions has been purchased, payment is due in full upfront.
Any changes to fees will be communicated in advance.
Cancellation policy
I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will normally be charged at the full session fee.
I understand that genuine emergencies and unexpected circumstances happen, and I may use my discretion in exceptional circumstances.
If I need to cancel a session, you will not be charged and I will offer an alternative appointment wherever possible.
Confidentiality
What you share with me during counselling is treated as confidential. Protecting your privacy and creating a space where you feel able to speak openly is an important part of our work together.
There are, however, some limits to confidentiality.
In exceptional circumstances, I may need to share information if I believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or somebody else, where there is a safeguarding concern, or where disclosure is required by law.
Any decision to disclose information would be considered carefully and in accordance with my professional and legal responsibilities. Wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so, I would aim to discuss this with you first.
BACP makes this distinction too: confidentiality is fundamental, but therapists should explain its limits rather than promise absolute confidentiality. BACP
Supervision
As part of ethical counselling practice, I undertake regular professional supervision.
Supervision provides a confidential space for me to reflect on my client work and helps ensure that I am practising safely, ethically and effectively.
Aspects of our work may be discussed with my supervisor, but identifying information will be kept to the minimum necessary and your privacy will be protected.
Safeguarding and risk
Your safety and wellbeing are important.
If I become seriously concerned about your safety or the safety of another person during our work together, I may need to consider contacting an appropriate person, safeguarding service or emergency service.
Wherever possible and appropriate, I would aim to discuss this with you before taking action.
Crisis support
Find A Creative Mind is not an emergency or crisis mental health service, and I am unable to provide immediate or continuous support outside scheduled sessions.
If you are in immediate danger or require urgent mental health support, you should contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service rather than waiting for a response from me, such as Samaritans (https://www.samaritans.org/)
Contact outside sessions
Our therapeutic work primarily takes place within scheduled counselling sessions.
You are welcome to contact me between sessions for practical reasons such as arranging, cancelling or rearranging an appointment, please do so via email amycounselling2025@gmail.com
Email and messaging are not intended to provide counselling or crisis support between sessions, and I may not always be able to respond immediately.
If something comes up between sessions that you would like to explore therapeutically, we can usually bring this into our next session.
Professional boundaries
Our relationship is a professional therapeutic relationship, and I will maintain appropriate professional boundaries throughout our work together.
Find A Creative Mind has a public online and social-media presence. You are welcome to follow or engage with public Find A Creative Mind content if you choose, but I will not initiate personal social-media connections with clients.
If we happen to see each other outside counselling, I will normally allow you to decide whether you would like to acknowledge me. This is to protect your privacy, as other people may not know that you attend counselling with me.
Working within my competence
I work within the areas in which I am appropriately trained and competent to practise.
Sometimes it may become apparent that another practitioner or specialist service would be better placed to provide the support you need. If this happens, I will discuss this with you and, where appropriate, help you consider other sources of support.
This reflects the BACP requirement that practitioners recognise the limits of their competence and seek consultation or make referrals when appropriate. BACP
Clients aged 16–17
My private counselling practice is available to people aged 16 and over.
When working with someone aged 16 or 17, I will consider their individual circumstances, capacity to consent, safeguarding needs and the appropriate involvement of a parent or guardian.
The arrangements around consent, confidentiality and parental involvement will be discussed and agreed before counselling begins.
Notes and records
I keep brief and appropriate records relating to my counselling work.
Electronic counselling records are stored securely on a password-protected computer and are accessible only by me, except where disclosure is legally or professionally required.
I aim to keep counselling notes limited to information that is relevant and necessary for my professional work.
Records will only be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which they were collected and to meet my professional, insurance, legal and regulatory responsibilities, after which they will be securely deleted.
BACP specifically advises therapists to keep records secure, relevant and limited to what is necessary, and to keep identifying/contact information separate from session notes. BACP The ICO does not prescribe a universal number of years but requires organisations to be able to justify their retention period. ICO
Ending counselling
You can choose to end counselling at any time.
Where possible, I encourage you to discuss ending with me so that we have an opportunity to reflect on our work and bring the therapeutic relationship to an appropriate close.
I may also suggest ending our work or referring you to another practitioner or service if I believe this would better meet your needs. Wherever possible, this would be discussed with you first.
Concerns or complaints
If you have any concerns about our work together, I encourage you to raise them with me so that we have an opportunity to discuss and, where possible, resolve them.
As a registered member of the BACP, I am also accountable to its professional and ethical standards.
Information about BACP and its professional conduct procedures can be found on the BACP website.
Retreats & Events
Booking and payment
Your place is not confirmed until the required deposit or payment has been received.
Where a deposit is required to secure a place, this will be made clear at the time of booking.
Travel arrangements
Unless expressly stated otherwise, you are responsible for arranging and paying for your own travel to and from a Find A Creative Mind retreat or event.
Find A Creative Mind cannot accept responsibility for delays, cancellations or other disruption relating to travel arrangements outside our control.
Where international travel is involved, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the appropriate passport, visa or other travel documentation.
Travel insurance
Where appropriate to the retreat or event, participants are strongly advised to have adequate travel insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment, personal belongings and activities undertaken during the retreat.
Health and participation
Some retreats and events may include physical, creative or wellbeing activities.
You are responsible for deciding whether an activity is appropriate for you and for informing the relevant facilitator of any health condition, injury, pregnancy, disability or other circumstance that may affect your safe participation.
Where you have concerns about your ability to participate, you should seek appropriate medical advice beforehand.
You are never required to participate in an activity that does not feel appropriate for you.
Retreat cancellation by you
Any deposit identified as non-refundable at the time of booking will normally remain non-refundable if you cancel.
Where possible, Find A Creative Mind may offer your place for resale. If the place can be successfully resold, I may at my discretion refund payments that would otherwise be non-refundable.
Any specific cancellation and transfer arrangements for an individual retreat or event will be explained when booking.
Once a retreat or event has begun, refunds will not normally be provided for activities, accommodation or other elements you choose not to use.
Cancellation or changes by Find A Creative Mind
If Find A Creative Mind cancels an event, payments made directly to Find A Creative Mind for that event will be refunded.
Occasionally it may be necessary to make reasonable changes to a retreat or event because of circumstances outside my control, including changes to facilitators, venues, accommodation or activities.
Where a significant change is necessary, I will communicate this as soon as reasonably possible.
Circumstances outside our control
Find A Creative Mind cannot accept responsibility for losses caused by circumstances reasonably outside its control, such as severe weather, natural disasters, transport disruption, government restrictions, venue closures or the unexpected unavailability of third-party suppliers or facilitators.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.
Personal belongings
You are responsible for your personal belongings during retreats and events.
Find A Creative Mind cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged possessions except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Additional activities
Unless specifically included within the description of a retreat or event, optional activities, treatments, travel, food, accommodation or other extras are not included in the booking price.
Complaints
If you experience a problem during a retreat or event, please raise it with me as soon as possible so that I have an opportunity to address it.
You can also contact Find A Creative Mind after the event using the contact details on the website.
Creative Consultancy & Corporate Wellbeing
The scope, price, timescale and deliverables for consultancy, creative work, corporate wellbeing sessions and workshops will normally be agreed separately before work begins.
Any project-specific terms agreed in writing will take precedence over the general terms on this page where they differ.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment terms, cancellation arrangements and intellectual-property arrangements will be confirmed as part of the individual booking, proposal or invoice.
