Mentoring for professionals that lost their spark
Sometimes creativity gets buried beneath pressure, expectation and responsibility.
Most creative people don't lose their creativity. They lose the space, confidence or energy to access it. Perhaps your work has become driven by deadlines, clients and financial pressure. Maybe you've started questioning whether you're good enough, comparing yourself to everyone else, or feeling disconnected from the reasons you became a creative in the first place.
Creative mentoring offers a person-centred* space to slow down and reconnect with your own way of thinking. Together, we'll explore the challenges you're facing, rediscover what inspires you, and find approaches that feel authentic to the way you naturally work, rather than forcing yourself into someone else's definition of success.
If creativity has always been one of your greatest strengths, it simply needs the right conditions to flourish again.
*person centred means working in a way that suits the client, not vice-versa.
Hi I’m Amy (and this is Vinnie), here’s why this matters to me
I didn't become a designer until I was 31. Before that, I'd spent almost a decade in jobs that never really felt like the right fit. I worked hard, but I always felt disconnected from what I was doing and struggled to find work that played to my natural strengths.
Training as a designer completely changed that. For the first time, I found a career where curiosity, imagination and seeing the world differently weren't weaknesses, they were the very things that made me good at my job. It was one of the happiest and most fulfilling periods of my life.
But over time, I experienced something I know many creatives relate to. The more successful my business became, the less time I actually spent being creative. My days gradually filled with client management, deadlines, admin, proposals and the pressure of constantly selling myself. The creativity that had once brought me so much freedom slowly became another source of pressure.
It wasn't that I'd lost my creativity. I'd simply lost touch with it.
Over the last few years, I've realised that if I want to stay creative professionally, I also need creativity that exists away from work. Time to think, make, wander, rest and occasionally do absolutely nothing. Those moments aren't distractions from creativity; they're often where it begins.
That's why I created Find A Creative Mind. I want to help other creative professionals reconnect with what made them love their work in the first place, understand the environments in which they do their best thinking, and build a more sustainable creative life. Because your greatest strengths don't disappear when you feel stuck. Sometimes they just need the space to re-emerge.
What is Creative Mentoring for Creative Professionals?
Creative mentoring combines person-centred principles with creativity as a way of thinking, rather than simply something we do. As creative professionals, we're often hired for our imagination, curiosity and ability to see things differently. Yet over time, deadlines, client expectations, or the demands of running a business can slowly pull us away from the very mindset that makes us good at our work.
Creative mentoring isn't about teaching you how to be creative. It's about helping you reconnect with the qualities that already exist within you. Together, we'll create space to reflect, recharge and rediscover the curiosity, playfulness and freedom that first drew you to a creative career. My aim isn't to change the way you think, but to help you remember the creative mindset that allows you to do your best work.
Some of my specialisms
-

Neurodivergent minds
Whether you've recently received a diagnosis, suspect you may be neurodivergent, or are beginning to understand yourself through a new lens, these sessions offer a space to explore how your mind works. Together, we'll focus on acceptance, regulation, and building a life that works with your strengths rather than against them.
-

Navigating menopause
Menopause often brings much more than physical symptoms. It can spark questions around identity, confidence, relationships and what’s next. I provide space to make sense of the changes you're experiencing, reconnect with yourself, and navigate this transition with greater clarity, compassion, and self-trust.
-

Putting down your phone
Many of us feel trapped between wanting to be present and constantly reaching for our phones. Together, we'll explore your relationship with technology, what might be driving those habits, and how to create more space for rest and connection without feeling like you have to disconnect from modern life completely.
-

Creative career slump
Working in creative industries can be inspiring, but it can also leave you feeling depleted, pressured, or disconnected from the reasons you started creating in the first place. Together, we'll explore ways to reduce overwhelm, navigate perfectionism, and reconnect with curiosity, confidence, and a more sustainable creative practice.

Sometimes the two can feel very similar. Together, we'll explore what's really going on, whether that's burnout, a loss of purpose, changing priorities or simply recognising that the way you've been working is no longer sustainable.
-
This is something I hear often. Creative mentoring isn't about generating more ideas, it's about understanding what's getting in the way of bringing them to life. Whether that's perfectionism, overwhelm, fear of failure or simply exhaustion, we'll work together to create conditions where your creativity can flourish again.

Many creative industries naturally attract people who think differently, and it's not uncommon for creative professionals to identify as ADHD, autistic or otherwise neurodivergent. While these ways of thinking often bring incredible creativity, curiosity and innovation, many workplaces still reward constant productivity, fast-paced environments and rigid ways of working that don't suit everyone.
Together, we can explore ways of working that honour both your creativity and the way your mind naturally functions. You may also want to take a look at my page on neurodivergence here -
I'm currently completing my Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and am a Student Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). My work is guided by the BACP Ethical Framework, and I receive regular clinical supervision as part of my training.

Creative Mentoring sits somewhere between coaching, counselling, and creative exploration. It's a space to slow down, better understand yourself, and explore challenges from a different perspective. The focus isn't on giving advice or telling you what to do, but helping you uncover what feels right for you.
-
Not at all. In fact, many people who work with me don't consider themselves creative. When I talk about creativity, I'm referring to a way of thinking: curiosity, flexibility, openness, and the ability to explore new possibilities.
-
No. While my approach is influenced by my training in Person-Centred Counselling, Creative Mentoring is not a substitute for therapy. It is a reflective, supportive space that combines conversation with creative thinking to help you better understand yourself and navigate change.
-
Every session is different because every person is different. Some sessions are entirely conversational, while others may include simple creative or reflective exercises. We begin with whatever feels most important to you and work from there.
-
People often come to me when they're experiencing a transition or feeling stuck. This might include menopause, neurodivergence, burnout, creative block, career changes, relationship changes, settling after a nomadic lifestyle, technology overwhelm, or simply a feeling that life no longer feels quite right.
-
Traditional coaching is often focused on goals, performance, and action plans. Creative Mentoring is more exploratory. Rather than trying to fix a problem quickly, we take time to understand what's really going on and what you need moving forward.
-
There is no right answer. Some people find a short series of sessions gives them the clarity they need, while others benefit from longer-term support.
For first timers, you would have to book 6 sessions minimum, because meaningful change and insight usually take time. The sessions build on one another and create space to explore things more deeply than is often possible in a single conversation.
If you're unsure, we can discuss what feels most appropriate during an introductory call. -
